While I am disappointed in the victory of Scott Brown over Martha Coakley, this might work out in the end. Consider this election a wake up call for the Democratic Party.
This is just the first battle of 2010, and the lessons learned in this election will be used by Democrats is the November election. The main lesson is that no matter how far ahead you think you are, work like you are 10 points behind. Also, define your opponent before your opponent defines you.
I think the party will be just fine, let's not throw ourselves off a bridge because there is not a 60 seat majority.
